Starwood pilots first Bayan Human Resources Management System at Ajman Saray, A Luxury Collection Resort in Ajman, UAE

Following a series of meetings and demonstrations for the Bayan Human Resources Management system with Starwood MEA area office to ensure the level of compliance of the system to the current and future demands and requirements of the leading hotel management company, Sky Software was given the green light to implement the Bayan HRMS system at the first GCC pilot site: Ajman Saray Luxury Collection Resort.

This is the second Starwood implementation in the MEA area after Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel.

The prestigious five star resort features 260 rooms and suites and over 450 employees was looking for a full HR software solution suite capable of catering for the various hotel and chain requirements covering the full area of human resources, payroll, time attendance, workflow and self services, training, financial analysis and interfacing and comprehensive local and chain reporting system. The project objective was also to make sure that Bayan HRMS system promised specifications and features stands right in the actual environment and thus nominate the system as a Starwood preferred system in the MENA area.

The project implementation, carried out by Sky Software Project Manager, Raa'd Al Rousan, lasted for 35 days, including a full installation of Bayan HR, Time Keeping and Payroll systems, with compliance to Starwood’s security polices, segregation of duties, budgeting and financial procedures.

Mr. Yasser Sharkawy, The Director of Human Resources in Ajman Saray, was pleased from the professional Bayan Workflow management system in providing the right paperless, online control system of all employee requests, transactions and information changes. He was also highly satisfied with Bayan Time Keeping System, which has offered the HR department at Ajman Saray the advantage of managing employee attendance, leaves and vacations records efficiently, as well as they got the most out of Bayan Notifications Alert System in handling employee official documents.

Bayan Payroll System has successfully gained the satisfaction of Mr. Carlos Del Campo, the Director of Finance, who was impressed with the accuracy of Bayan in handling all the financial calculations, which in turn has met the deadline of the resort and successfully closed two payroll months without any errors or duplicates. Mr. Carlos was also impressed with the immediate, richness and high level of support provided by Sky Support Team during and after the project implementation.

Ajman Saray has also implemented the interface between Bayan Payroll and SAP BO System which exported all payroll and accruals JV according to Starwood requirements and chart of accounts.

On the other hand, Bayan Workflow Management System was installed providing the resort with an effective tool to manage their request and approval cycle, in addition to a new hiring approval cycle which was added recently to the system according to Ajman specific requirements.

Mr. Michele Frignani, the General Manager of Ajman Saray Resort, has expressed his satisfaction from Bayan HRMS System mentioning that it has exceeded their expectations and could successfully meet the different needs of the resort efficiently.
